The 3hundred sixty degrees of ME

Amad the Champiang managed to secure 2 Super GT pit crew tags for me… At a cost though (rm100 for both). Schemed-up with Mizaruddin (fellow dragon boat crew) so that the cost will be ‘tong-tong’ between him, Gemuk and your’s truely. I choosed to attend the qualifying session which is on saturday thus making way for Gemuk to attend the actual race on Sunday… Mizaruddin attended both day… Ended up paying just rm30 for a 2 days limited access tickets (holders are allowed access to the pits, mall and grand stand)…. Sweet. 

Hang around with Amad and his Jasme Auto crew… Finally had a good look on his Mini Bitek (VTEC 2.0) car… tremendeous piece of machine… To think that he managed to throw a CRV engine into this puny Mini makes u drool… Amad didn’t get to race in the qualifying round that day… Aibak (his son aka Michelin Man… dun ask) got bisul on his hand… Amad sent him to the clinic thus was late for the race…  As u can see from the official race sheet Amad didn’t qualify… He will have to start from the back of the grid on race day….

Good buddy Eddie Ersal was also there… He was on duty as a Scrutineer ( they check race cars to make sure they comply with rulings). Super GT was fast becoming a reunion of sorts… Hehehe… I also met Pakcik Ramly and his son Azam…  They are mechanics that did servicings on my in law’s fleet of Bimmers… Mizaruddin also met his kampung boy who turns out to be wireman of Din Ekzos racing machine… 

Now the qualifying session was something else… Truely mind blowing experience… Watching Supras, NSXs and Nissan Zs passing by the grand stand at hilarious speeds really takes a toll on me… It SUPERB!!!! it was pure powwer…. damn these japanese makes good engines….  The engines were really loud…  Especially that one particular Carrera… BISING MAMPOOOS EKJOS PORSHCE NIE!!!

Managed to get into GT Teams Pit after the qualifying session with Eddie’s help… Got to see the Japs Techies working and of course the GT Queens… What are GTs without them…. Sigh!!!

Housing loan here i come….

This is a good friend of mine since secondary school days… We played softball together and were in the PB together… And he was the one that introduce me to the world of automobiles and racing… World of 4AGs, VTECs, drag racings and time attacks… Answering endless questions from me with such details and dedication bout everything from basic fuel octane rating to how fuel injection works….

Last week he won first place in MSS Championship in Sepang… His ride is something worth mentioning… It’s a Morris Mini with 2L VTEC engine from Honda CRV… and he’s using B16’s head with oversided pistons… hence the name MINI VTEC… dlm melayunye Minibitek… a lot of money and effort had been put in this project… so it’s really an achievement coming in on first place in the race…

So this is a tribute for u Amad… All the best for u…
