Already my lappie playing his MP3 all the time…

My musical experience nowadays bored me to death…

There’s no more excitement.. Is it because of me…??? Father of two now… Hardly got time to listen to new stuffs.. No more buying CDs (it used to be 4 or 5 CDs straight everytime going down Petaling Street).. Hardly catches shows on MTV and Channel V nowadays (normally watched Channel V being on the lookout for Sarah Tan…) Concerts…??? My last concert was Dewa ‘konsert kamdar’  back in 2005 ( Napalm Death gig back in September last year does not qualify.. they’re only for purist… purist meaning unexplainable behaviour in someone listening to Birmingham’s finest noise monger music that  a normal person would hardly understand…nor appreciate)…

But come 26th April all will be well… Am really excited again… The prospect of seeing this Grammy winner performing live with my very  own  eyes is just too much… And he IS performing… Not singing…

And now the waiting is torturing me….

Cool Britania… really

August 10th, 2006 by faeizal

A few weeks ago I had a friendly banter on Brit Pop with G-Man… We were on our way to Klang that day… Scouting for rims to be put on his Satria… And all the while his ICE was blasting 90’s Brit Pop music such as Dodgy, Embrace, Pulp and so forth…

I like Brit Pop… They write about uniquely British topics and concerns with typical British humour and all. Most important of all… the songs tasted British to the max…

Brit Pop is unique… Some of their sounds and musical arrangements are really a joy to listen… Remember Pulp’s Disco 2000, Kula Shaker’s Hush and Blur’s Parklife? Classics…

Me and G-Man agreed on one thing… Brit Pop differs from grunge and all Yankies music in terms of ‘anger’. American really like to show their anger and frustration in their song wheras the Brits are more inclined towards parody and comedy… They kinda don’t mind showing a ‘joker’ side of them… Kinda cool u know…

But what i like most about Brit Pop is that i think Brit Pop really suit UKs weather… I always had this fascination bout UK weather… It’s dark and gloomy most of the time… the endless raining… the wet pavements… The black umbrellas… But in all that people continue to strive… The human spirit…

p/s… G-Man… thanks for the Ned’s Atomic Dustbin and Manic Street Preacher mp3s

Parting shot… The new single from Keane… Kinda my favourite song these few days… The next wave of Brit Pop??

Is It Any Wonder - KEANE

I ….
I always thought that I knew
I’d always have the right to
Be living in the kingdom of the good and true
and so on

but now I think how I was wrong
And you were laughing along
And now I look a fool for thinking you were on, my side

Is it any wonder I’m tired
Is it any wonder that I feel uptight
Is it any wonder I don’t know what’s right

Sometimes
It’s hard to know where I stand
It’s hard to know where I am
Well maybe it’s a puzzle I don’t understand

But sometimes
I get the feeling that I’m
Stranded in the wrong time
Where love is just a lyric in a children rhyme, a soundbite

Is it any wonder that I’m tired
Is it any wonder that I feel uptight
Is it any wonder I don’t know what’s right
oh, these days
After all the misery you made
Is it any wonder that I feel afraid
Is it any wonder that I feel betrayed

Nothing left inside this old cathedral
Just the sad lonely spires
Adding you make it right

Oh, but you try
Is it any wonder I’m tired
Is it any wonder that I feel uptight
Is it any wonder I don’t know what’s right
oh, these days
After all the misery you made
Is it any wonder that I feel afraid
Is it any wonder that I feel betrayed

Drummer Igor Cavalera Quits Sepultura

June 12th, 2006 by faeizal

Drummer Igor Cavalera has officially announced his departure from SEPULTURA.

In a statement released on June 12 to the Brazilian media, Igor
attributed the split to "artistic incompatibility" with his SEPULTURA
bandmates — guitarist Andreas Kisser, bassist Paulo Xisto Pinto Jr. and
vocalist Derrick Green.

Sepulturabio

"I believe my mission in SEPULTURA has come to an end," Igor said in
the statement. "I am very proud of everything we have done, but I feel
that the group’s current formation no longer lives up to my
expectations as a musician and a person. Since my last tour with
SEPULTURA, which took place in Europe in December 2004, I have sensed
that my ideas were not compatible with those of the rest of the band."

Definately sad… Sepultura was essential listening for all metalheads… G_Man, Fairull, Bacha, Syahar and me use to spend countless hours (and money) in the jamming studios practicing and perfecting our covers of their Chaos AD EP songs….

The line-up back then was…

G_Man - guitars
Fairull  - killer "nyamuk tiruk goreng" guitar
Bacha  - drums
Syahar - growls
Me      -  bass

VIOBA 7s - Mokhtar Dahari Cup

April 25th, 2006 by faeizal

792e

The fourth edition… Old Boys would gather and play the game VI so famously known for… football. The oldest batch this year was Batch 81… Just imagine… they left the school 25 years ago…

My batch, Ceria 95 have a good track record in this tournament. In the first edition, we won the Plate Competition. For the second edition we managed to to get to the final in the Champions Comp only to lose it to Batch 91. The last edition must be the worse; only the quaterfinals.

The tournament is spread over two days on the weekend… Normally  the guys would organise a BBQ  beside the VI Green where we would invite other batches to join in… Normally we would choose to invite our next opponent so that they will be full to the brim and hardly can play anymore footie.. Heheheheh

But this year noo BBQ coz the BBQ Chief is in the Holy Land doing the Umrah… So it’s purely football this year…. Hmmmm… Awe made his debut in the tournament. He was in the UK the last few years finishing his degree… Welcome back awe…

The guys made it to the final of the Plate Comp this year… And what tough luck it was to lose the Present Boys team after the heroics of our makeshift keeper, Azan. He took a knock on the face and
even got benjol under the right eyes….

Here’s for the guys… and Azan
